The Experience Part 1
Alabama Wedding Videographer
I read an article recently about a newly discovered scientific fact– whatever your personal experience is with people you are working with will ultimately affect how you feel about the work that results from that experience. Here’s the thing- I don’t need scientists to tell me that the way I make people feel affects how they feel about their final films! Living in the South, southern hospitality is a way of life, and I think that’s what makes my business different! This Alabama videographer loves the thought of welcoming each of her clients with a warm and inviting experience!
I’ve always said one of my favorite things is to walk around the local boutiques and shops downtown. You go in and it smells lovely, everyone is friendly, and the wares are unique! It’s because of this atmosphere that I continue to shop at this brick-and-mortar locations instead of shopping all online. It’s also because of this that when I started my business, I said I would value the experience I give to my clients over everything else!
That said, I’ve created a two part Blog series to share how I love on my couples! Here is Part 1!
Birmingham, Troy & Beyond
The MPV Bride Meeting & Coffee Date
Many people don’t know this about me, but I am actually a very introverted person. Large crowds and loud locations can be fun, but wear me out! My absolute favorite way to connect with people is in a quiet place where we can actually talk. I love getting to know my couples and becoming like a friend to them! That’s why the first part (and my favorite part) of the MPV Bride Experience is treating them to a coffee date as soon as they book!
My favorite coffee shops to visit are Chelsea Coffee House in Chelsea, AL and Village Coffee in Troy. Both of these shops have a calm atmosphere and the BEST dirty chai lattes. (Which is a chai latte with an added shot of espresso!) I love that these shops also have yummy treats other than coffee in case my couples aren’t feeling the caffeine kick. 😉
Communication & Client Management Software
Wedding Planning & Honeybook
Wedding planning can be stressful on brides, so I love providing a clear, calm voice in the midst of the chaos. I like to provide my couples with tips and educate them on how to have the wedding film they’ve always dreamed of! This means timeline planning tips, suggestions for vendors if they need it, and more! I use Honeybook to keep everything organized for my clients and myself, and it has been such a blessing! All of my questionnaires, contracts, and email chats stay on the Honeybook portal organized and secure. If you’re a creative and your not using a CRM, I cannot recommend Honeybook more! Use this link to get 50% off your first year on Honeybook! (I do get a little kick back from that link, but believe me, I LOVE this program and would preach it even if I didn’t!)
Normally, couples book me at least 8-12 months in advance of their wedding, so we have plenty of time to get to know each other and enjoy the process! And anytime they have questions or just want to say hey, they just log into their Honeybook account and drop me a note!
Questionnaires & Blogs
I send out two questionnaires to my couples to help me be as prepared as possible to film their love story and wedding day. The first questionnaire is all of the logistics I need to ensure a smooth wedding day. I ask questions about locations, times, and contact information. The second questionnaire is all about the blog! This is where I get as much information as possible about my couples’ amazing vendors and a recap of their love story & proposal stories. It’s no secret I love to write, so blogging my films for couples is one of the way I show them I love them and their story! Here are a few of my favorites:
