PLEASURE TO MEET YOU

Venue & Date
Christy & Cody were married on April 29 at Rustic Acres in Ramer, AL. This South Montgomery venue, with its red barn, silo, and lush greenery & pines made for the perfect location for sweet Christy & her self proclaimed “simple man” Cody. (I’ll explain that in a minute!)

Meet Christy & Cody
Christy explained to me that she & Cody aren’t exactly sure when they first met. She said, “To be honest we can’t remember. If I had to imagine though, the first time we met was at the race track. We have a lot of mutual friends, and Cody and I were friends for several years before he ever showed interest in me. The best part of our story is that he convinced me to stay out ALL NIGHT ( I was way past that stage in my life lol) the night before Easter in 2014. We stayed up and watched movies all night. That morning I was running home to be with my family and he kissed me goodbye, the rest was history!”
The Proposal
C & C’s proposal story is a little non-traditional, just like the couple it’s about. In fact, knowing his bride like he did, Cody chose to propose without a ring! Christy explained “that was because he says I am picky so he left that part up to me. He got down on one knee in our living room and said, “Babe, will you marry this simple man?” Of course that was an easy yes for me.” I mean, how precious is that?

The Big Day
Christy was calm and collected as she got her hair & makeup done by the awesome Ashley & Ann. I mean seriously, you ladies do a great job. I want to have you come to my house every day and fix this face/mop!
Christy’s sweet bridesmaids waited on her hand and foot, and I could tell they all were the best of friends.
The guys got ready in the barn, and I got to see something I’ve never seen before at a wedding. Caring Cody wanted to make sure his hair looked just like his bride wanted it, so he snapped a quick hair-selfie and sent it to her. Once she gave the OK, we were out to the lake for their first look.
If these two were nervous during the first look, they certainly didn’t show it. Christy confidently walked to her groom, and he reacted so sweetly to seeing her for the first time.
The day was filled with small details of family and friends, from the locket necklace tied around Christy’s bouquet with her father’s picture in it, to the sign at the ceremony explaining that they had loved ones watching from heaven. Since her father passed away, Christy chose to honor him on her wedding day by laying his motorcycle jacket on the back of his chair. That was the sweetest tribute to a family member I’ve ever seen. Along the aisle were hand-painted signs from Christy’s friend Becca Petty. These signs wrote out 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
The ladies at Rustic Acres know how to make great food,  and this wedding was no different. Southern dishes such as tomato casserole & pulled pork sliders steamed from the serving tables as classic hydrangeas  and tea light candles adorned the tables.
The outdoor bar area had drinks & a relaxing place for guests to sit, and after a quick sparkler exit, everyone hopped into their comfortable clothes to finish out the night.
Christy & Cody,
I am so honored to have been there for your special day. I can tell that you two are so kind and understanding of each other, and truly are the best of friends. Consider yourselves blessed, because you are!! Your day was perfect, and I know those looking down from heaven had big smiles on their faces watching you two pledge your lives to each other. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Weihe!
