PLEASURE TO MEET YOU

Cullman Wedding Videographer

In this Cullman wedding film, you’ll find: a traditional, Christ-centered wedding ceremony, a rose petal and silk shaker church exit, and a dreamy golden hour of enjoying those first few moments as Mr. & Mrs….You see, this is what happens when two childhood sweethearts finally get to call each other husband and wife.

He “Had her at Hello”

When I met Katie & Alex for coffee, they immediately blew me away with their comfortable chemistry. They are both soft-spoken, but strong, and together I believe these two can move mountains! (And make us all swoon with the MOST PERFECT dip kiss outside of the First Baptist Church of Cullman.)

Their story starts many years ago, in middle school. You see, Katie saw him in their seventh grade math class. She immediately knew she wanted to get to know him better, but shyness got the better of them. Flash forward to the end of the year, and a whole page of writing in his yearbook, he STILL didn’t get the picture. The rest of their high school years flew by, with Alex always saying hi to Katie in the hallway, but never asking her out. She explained that “although we weren’t close friends, every time and I mean EVERY TIME I saw Alex at school he would always say ‘Hey Katie.’ Alex was the only person who always said hey to me, I could always count on his hellos.”

During college, they reconnected through one of my favorite apps..Instagram. He followed her, so she made the first move and messaged him. Turns out…he admitted he had a crush on her the whole time. The rest, as they say, is history.

A Christmas Proposal

Their proposal story could have been written by Hallmark, and I love it! Christmas is Katie’s favorite time of the year. Alex knew this and he originally wanted to propose at their favorite local picnic spot because it just so happens every Christmas they put up Christmas lights throughout the park. One small bump in the road– the park was closed on Christmas Eve night for some reason, so he blindfolded her and took her to their town’s Christmas tree spot in Depot Park. Katie told me “it was so beautiful being proposed with all of the lights and the huge tree! It was perfect and so us.”

Loft 212 Wedding

In contrast to Christmastime, these two chose May for their wedding day. Now May in Alabama is always interesting, because you could have spring-like weather with rain and soft breezes, OR you can have summer temperatures like those felt in June. Lucky for us, we got the best of both worlds with a nice breeze, even if it was a bit hot.

Loft 212 made for a great place for Katie and her girls to get their hair and makeup done, while Alex and his guys relaxed at a local barber shop. This was the first time we’ve ever filmed a group of guys having an old fashioned barber party, and let me say I am now fully encouraging all grooms to do this! Jose Campos, with Beards & Shears Barber Lounge did a fantastic job getting our groom wedding day ready. (Also, Kelsey and I fully approve of his music playlist.)

First Look Goals & Small Town Love

Their first look was emotional. Watching Katie walk toward Alex, you could imagine the time it took to get to this day. Through 7th grade, high school, and finally college they waited, and now–with a soft spoken “you can turn around” their lives would change forever.

The rest of the day flew by joyfully. One thing about this location for a wedding- it’s in the middle of downtown Cullman, AL. As the bridal party posed on the front steps, cars whizzed by, shouting their congratulations to the couple. I love small towns.

Katie and Alex,
Kelsey and I are so honored we got to be the gals behind the cameras with you two. We can’t stop talking about your day, and know the best is yet to come. We hope y’all continue taking long drives in classic cars and never stop arguing about who loves who most!
