Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue Wedding day details

Venue & Date
Kate & Tyler were married on June 3 at Windy Ridge Farm in Dothan. We met Kate at the Dothan Bridal Extravaganza, along with her amazing family. This group left quite an impression on us! In fact, I remember telling my Mom, who was helping me that day, that I just HAD to be Kate’s videographer because she and her family were too much fun to miss out on! After meeting up with these two and getting to know “Mr. Mayor” Tyler, I was even more excited about their day. These two don’t believe in strangers and have the sweetest (and most competitive!) personalities.

Meet Kate & Tyler
Kate told me that they met while in college at Troy University. (Go Trojans!)  She said “Tyler volunteered in the Troy weight room. We also had a lot of classes together since we were majoring in the same field. It didn’t take long for us to know that God put us in each other’s path for a reason.” (Isn’t that sweet? Spoiler- You’ll hear the moment Tyler realized he loved Kate in their film!)

The Proposal
Y’all know I love a good proposal story, and the way Tyler proposed didn’t disappoint! They told me all about it over coffee at one of our favorite local coffee shops. What happened was Tyler planned a trip to Atlanta to go watch a Braves game and Chris Stapleton concert. Kate explained that “it was on a Saturday night but Tyler insisted that we go up the night before so we could wake up early Saturday and enjoy the day in Atlanta. We got there that night and he wanted to go grab something to eat somewhere nice. He took me to the sweetest restaurant on the river called Canoe in Buckhead. It had the best view and was one of the prettiest restaurants I’d ever been to. He took me to a spot away from everyone (because he knew I would freak out if people saw us) and got down on one knee. Tyler wanted it to be a special moment for just him and I and I will always remember that day. It was absolutely perfect.”

The Big Day

Kate & her girls got ready in the bridal suite of the farm, while the guys shot pool and watched baseball. I’m going to go on record here and say their bridal party was one of the most fun groups of people I’ve ever been around- just don’t ask the guys to fake laugh or else you may get more than you bargained for! Haha! I asked them to do this for me and got the loudest laughter I’ve ever heard..about jumped out of my skin, it scared me so! Silly guys.

All day, the bridesmaids & groomsmen had smiles and jokes to share, keeping the tone light and fun. The sweetest thing to hear was when the groomsmen saw Kate for the first time in her bridal gown. Let’s just say they were impressed! (As they should be, she was stunning!!)

Minutes before the ceremony, a single bluebird perched, looking over at the aisle where Kate would soon walk to promise her forever to Tyler.

When I arrived at wedding, one of the first things I was told to look out for was bluebirds. Kate’s aunts explained that their Daddy, Kate’s grandfather, always sent them messages from heaven in the form of bluebirds. I promised I’d keep an eye out for one, but I never expected when that bluebird would show.

It was incredible to see that bluebird there, right before the ceremony, as if it were Kate’s grandfather giving his blessing on the day.

The forecast called for a 60% chance of rain but Kate & Tyler didn’t sweat it one bit! Miraculously, it only rained for about 30 minutes & not until after these two’s first look!  I heard that the awesome staff at Windy Ridge even got a mason jar & collected some of that rain for them, to one day use to baptize their children, if they’d like. How sweet is that? I hear rain is good luck on a wedding day, what do y’all think?

The reception featured great food, the cutest “Stump” themed decor & an amazing band. Let’s be honest, the band was so good most of the food was forgotten..people were having too good of a time dancing & enjoying themselves!

Kate & Tyler,
Several times I heard people refer to the two of you as competitive. I love hearing that, and I want to challenge you to something. I challenge you to live each day of your marriage the way you lived your wedding. Tyler, when Kate needs help walking through a tough time, I hope you’ll pick her up and carry her until it’s easier to navigate. Kate, I hope that you continue to support & love Tyler the way you did on Saturday, keeping things fun & calm as you two go through life together. Watching you two start your forever together & getting to capture these memories for you on film was my absolute pleasure. I hope that you will treasure them for years to come! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Stump!!
-Megan
