PLEASURE TO MEET YOU

Today my baby turns one. I can’t believe it. It feels like just yesterday we were bringing this tiny baby home from the hospital & I was freaking out about her carseat—praying the whole way home & making my husband drop us off at the house then meet the nice fireman that I called from the car..in a panic.. to inspect it..

Oh, first time Mom problems!!

Miss B, you are the missing puzzle piece we never knew we needed to make our family whole.

You’re vibrant, loving, and the most GIVING child I’ve ever met. Every time you play, you stick your sweet, tiny hand out, offering whatever you’re playing with to Momma, or whoever is near. You’ve never snatched things or held things like they were yours alone. You have such a giving heart.

You have auburn colored hair, just like me, even though your Daddy is convinced it’ll turn blond soon. I love seeing that hair all over the place in the mornings, like a little sprite has come in during the night and brushed it all akimbo.

Your smile and laugh can make any day brighter and has brought so much joy to our home. Plus, those 8 teeth you’ve got are just precious to look at, though I remember they weren’t so fun to get. You are such a trooper for smiling through getting those teeth.

You’re the best reason for under-eye circles that I’ve ever had, although I sure am glad you’re starting to sleep a little better lately.

Watching you wake up, that little booty in the air..then immediately going to snuggle up on Daddy is the equivalent of a dose of sunshine to me. Immediate happiness.

Things haven’t always been easy. Our first three months together, we were just figuring out this parenting thing, and you were figuring out this whole “being a human person” thing..Throw in Colic & a small bout of PPD for Mom and you’ve got some rough days. But we snuggled often, cried together once or twice, and made it through to today’s daily fun.

Little girl, we love watching you explore your world. You teach us so much every day. We have so much more to learn & are so excited to continue doing so with you.

We love you a bushel and a peck..Happy Birthday sweet Bennie!

Megan
