February 3, 2018— Tradition. It’s not just something that we do because we have to, or because it’s what has always been done. It’s something we do to honor the ones who came before us, or to show reverence to an action, an event, or a person we still hold dear. And that’s exactly how I would describe Hanna & Brandon’s elegant and OH SO FUN wedding. Full of tradition, love, respect, and yes… a good dose of south Alabama soiree.

Standing at the alter of the First United Methodist Church of Brundidge, a place rich in family history for Hanna’s family, these two promised forever to each other. Actually, Hanna promised she’d never confuse hunger for anger, and Brandon promised to always be a listening ear.

Then, they hopped into a vintage hardtop convertible and were swept off to the dreamiest reception space. From the floral chandelier overlooking the bar to the FIVE wedding cakes, it was a gorgeous affair.

The day started off with Hanna & her girls getting dressed in the carriage house next to the church, laughing and being as calm as could be. As someone who could wear purple every day of the week, I was absolutely obsessed with the cute velvet robes that Hanna had given her girls to wear. So pretty! Each detail that she had, from the locket draped around her floral bouquet to the lace garter given to her by her Grandmother, was steeped in story. Her wedding ring is also her grandmother’s wedding band, and under her dress was her “something blue” (a piece of her grandmother’s shirt with their wedding date embroidered). Speaking of the dress, Hanna had it custom designed by Heidi Elnora, and how it came to be had quite the story itself. She explained that when she went shopping for her gown at Heidi Elnora Atelier in Birmingham, she found lots of traits she loved in other gowns, but couldn’t find THE one. Little did she know, the designer was watching her through the store’s security cameras. Heidi called the store, and after talking to Hanna on the phone, drew up the gorgeous gown that Hanna ended up wearing. (And it couldn’t have been more perfect for her!)

Brandon was also as cool as a cucumber getting ready. He made everyone a little teary-eyed watching him interact with his little girl at the front of the church in her fluffy white dress, and the tears were flowing freely as we all watched him dance so sweetly with his Momma! Hanna told me that he’s always been a calm presence for her…except she explains, for on August 11, the day they got engaged. She said that he had hidden the ring in the top of one of the cabinets in their home and after a fun date night, Brandon was “acting awkward…” but wanted to watch the stars from their back porch. Hanna said the next thing she knew, Brandon had moved to go somewhere—she turns around and he’s on one knee! Her response? “Really? Really!?”

He had the ring for a little over 24 hours, and couldn’t wait any longer!

Flash forward to February, and the wait was definitely over!

After sharing their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Jordan, they took a family friend’s 1957 vintage hardtop convertible and after dancing the night away to The Park Band, the night ended with a bang. Literally.

Hanna & Brandon,

I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve you two as you start your journey as a new family of three. You two bring smiles to a lot of people’s faces, and I can tell that you are well loved by many!! I pray that you’ll get to watch this film each year and re-live this perfect day, happy tears and all!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Jordan!!
